I received this press release from the World Bank: "The World Bank Board of Directors discussed and endorsed today a new Country Assistance Strategy (CAS) for Lebanon covering the next four years (2006-2009). The Executive Directors expressed support and good will towards Lebanon in its efforts to address macroeconomic, governance,
and social challenges. They welcomed the emphasis on growth and social protection. They emphasized the importance of implementing structural reforms, and called on the Government and the Bank to enhance the country’s absorptive capacity of foreign finance projects." By the way, is there a study which charts the relationship between the right-wing, pro-US drifts of countries and the amount of aid and help that they get from the World Bank/IMF? Let me know.
