Al-Quds Al-`Arabi is reporting that US forces have secretly arrested the Iraqi Minister of Interior. But does that not clash with the transfer of sovereignty that Paul Bremer arranged before his departure? Because Iraq, as we have read, is now really "sovereign" and "independent", the presence of US and Macedonian troops notwithstanding. US may order the torture of this minister for ordering the torture of Iraqis prisoners.
