So UN Undersecretary General for Political Affairs Ibrahim Gambari is visiting Lebanon. How nice. The Lebanese press did not report that in answer to a question, he addressed the new Lebanese electoral law. How nice. He also today submitted a personal letter from UN Secretary-general, no less, to Lebanese Minister of Defense, a pillar of the Syrian intelligence order in Lebanon, until his recent transformation to the Hariri camp. That transformation immediately removed his suspect status from Mehlis' investigation which initially asked that banking secrecy be lifted from his accounts. He also announced, to the delight of the advocates of sovereignty in Lebanon, that the UN representative in South Lebanon, will now be in charge of all of Lebanon, and of all issues (including economic and development issues), and will also deal with Palestinian refugee camps.
