Oh, no: Saddam is back to writing his lousy poetry. An Iraqi weekly is reporting that Saddam, while waiting in the courtroom during his last appearance, wrote those two lines of "poetry":

اشمخ عزيزاً مهرك البارود
وان تعثر الزمان يعود
عزمنا للدهر نيرانا مخبأة
اخدود في الوغى يتبعه اخدود
(Stand up proud, your brideprice is gunpowder
And if time stumbles, it later returns
Our determination for life is hidden fire
a groove in war, followed by another groove)
