The state of the Arab media. I can't believe the quality of the Arab press somtimes (or the quality of the US press for that matter). Take the case of Randa Taqiyy Ad-Din, the Paris correspondent for Al-Hayat newspaper. She can't speak Arabic, and can't write Arabic. She can't conduct interviewies. I remember how frustrated Edward Said was once after being interviewed by her. And yet, she is a respected journalist in Lebanonesia.
