Ilyas `Atallah and the Fake Left, and the handful of what is comically known as the Democratic Left Movement in Lebanon, were never ever allowed to be on TV. But when they became tools, mere tools, of the Hariri political apparatus after the Hummus Revolution, they became regular and daily features of the right-wing Lebanese and Arab media. I remember once when `Atallah called Marcel Ghanim's show on LBC-TV, and pleaded with him like a kid: "you always promise to put me on, but you never do. Why?" I kid you not. Now he is a member of parliament. This is Lebanonese democracy.
