The Hurricanes of Nature and the Hurricanes of Peoples: You know that Bush lost Iraq and the Arab world (not that he ever won it or had the chance to win it) when the most right-wing Arab columnist and Sadat's propagandist, Anis Mansur (an early advocate of existentialism and author of the first book on it in Arabic), comes out against the US war in Iraq. In a column in Ash-Sharq Al-Awsat (which will not be covered by MEMRI of course) he writes: "...it is laughable that rulers in Iraq demand that Arabs stand by the state that is rejecting Arabism...America, the biggest of the super powers ever, is exposed...It is not capable of facing the hurricanes of nature, or the hurricanes of peoples."
