Explain this to me. The chador on women in Afghanistan during the era of the Taliban was a big issue in the Western press, and among Western governments. Feminist Majority, and other voices of "colonial feminism" complained about the chador. Yet, when the oppression of the Taliban was replaced by the oppression of the warlords, the chador stayed (as can be seen from the picture of this week) and yet, we don't hear complaints about it anymore. So is this about oppression, or about oppressors-we-like versus oppressors-we-don't-like?
