"President Bush authorized covert plans last year to support the election campaigns of Iraqis with close ties to the White House, but government and intelligence officials said yesterday the plan was scrapped before the January vote." I read this in the Washington Post, and believe the first part of the sentence, and strongly disbelieve the second part, and consider it propaganda to lend legitimacy to the current Iraqi government to show that it was freely chosen. No free choices are possible in the presence of foreign occupation forces, even when they hail from Macedonia.
