There is such ignorance about world affairs in US media. I heard O'Reilly (the most widely watched anchor on Fox News) railing about the French president, and talking about how Chirac does what he does to please his "socialist" constituency. These journalists really do not know that the ruling government in France is conservative. But conservative in France, is like liberal in US. And conservative in US, is like fascist in Europe.
