An item attracted my attention in the newspaper Al-Quds Al-`Arabi (which is guilty--in my opinion--of harboring sympathies for Saddam and Bin Laden simultaneously). Today, they carried the text of the pro-Saddam Iraqi Ba`th Party. The statement all but claimed responsibility for the murderous bombing of the UN compoud. I must confess that I was personally outraged at that statement by the Party that brought to Arab politics vicious coup's, mass graves, torture techniques, personality cults for dictators, and empty slogans. And they even insulted the UN staff in Iraq by calling them "agents": and I have a good friend (and a wonderful human being from Sweden) who worked at the UN office and was not hurt in the explosion.
