There is a new columnist at Fox News: Praise for Gulf autocracies

"Blocking their path is the Saudi-led traditional Gulf ruling order, the GCC. These six monarchies—Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar—are the last foundational pillars directly and indirectly upholding the nation-state structure in the region. "  Ali (a childhood classmate and friend) forgot to add: and those monarchies are the pillars of secularism, democracy, human rights, feminist and that without them the entire world of Middle East freedom would crumble.  I mean, who can dispute that really?   The funny part is that he argues that those regimes are not bad if you compare them to Ba`th regimes. As if the people of the region can only have two choices: either Ba`th rules or Gulf autocracies. Are there no other alternatives ya Ali?
