Ahmed Zewail

The reaction to his death has been quite contentious: many have been critical of him for a variety of reasons: 1) his appearance in Israel and acceptance of the Israel Wolf prize in chemistry; 2) his support for Mubarak; 3) his support for Sisi and his plea for Western countries to continue aid to Egypt; 4) his controversial Halwan project and its human cost. There has also been unsubstantiated reports about his work on Israeli missile technology.
