This political scientists believes that Israeli humiliation of the Palestinians should not be excessive

"Even some quarters of the Israeli military admit that humiliation at checkpoints is excessive".  Those people would have written in the time of slavery that slaves should be better treated.  They would never have argued for abolishment of slavery.
