Do you remember all those Western correspondents (especially the Daily Star columnists and of course Nicholas Blanford) featuring Shi`ites who they said will replace Hasan Nasrallah as leaders of Shi`ites? Do you know how much money was spent by Saudi and Western intelligence on those "alternative" Shi`ites?* Here, Ms. Anne Barnard has another conventional delusion: that `Alawites will rise up against Bashshar. Here sources? Prominent `Alawites who confided in her, here is one of those `Alawites: "Yezid Sayigh, an analyst at the Carnegie Middle East Center in Beirut, Lebanon, wrote recently". Case closed. Who can argue.
