Coverage of the war campaign of the Iraqi regime in Al-Anbar

Somebody should write an article comparing and contrasting how the Western media are covering the military campaign by the regime of Al-Maliki against the Bin Ladenites in Al-Anbar, versus the coverage of the war by the Syrian regime against the ISIS.  Both regimes have sectarian basis of support, and both regimes have links with the Iranian regimes, and both regimes are facing threats from ISIS.  Yet, for some reason, the campaign by Al-Maliki has received tremendous support and sympathy form the Western governments and media alike.
