Sudan

People forget about the contemporary political history of Sudan.  When I was a child in the 1960s, Sudan's political development was ahead of all other Arab countries.  It was the only country that had a real lively parliament and it had colorful politicians--unlike Arab countries.  And don't forget that the people of Sudan overthrew a military dictatorship back in 1964.  So Sudan has been ahead until US puppet, Numayri, was imposed on the people of Sudan.
