This formerly progressive magazine was a really courageous magazine when I came to the US. It used to offer a progressive, not radical, alternative to Democrats. I even used to subscribe to it. Now, it is merely another Democratic mouthpiece and it carries shallow analysis especially on foreign affairs, and especially on the Middle East where it is so scared of offending Zionists. Look at this piece: the man decided that the revolution is dead. It ain't over, man, unless you see Tantawi's head behind bars. I do agree with the writer that the Military Council is now in bed with the Ikhwan and Salafites. But the other side is not dead. With every explosion in Sinai at the gas pipeline I am reminded that the revolution is alive and well. Notice that the writer says nothing about the role of US and Israel to abort the revolution.
