Intellectual vapidness of Thomas Friedman

I know of no columnist with more lack of intellectual depth than Thomas Friedman (with the possible exception of Mr./Ms. Potato Head) .  Read his last column before today's: he has no insights of his own.  All the insights--if they ever exist--in his repetitive columns are drawn from other people's statements.  It is amazing.  He thinks that intellectualism lies in his weekly reference to the Arab Human Development report.  He has been referring to the report every week for years.   It is rather hilarious.  He was in Cairo for a few days and he dares to write this:  "But as one can quickly detect from a visit to Cairo..."  A couple of days in Cairo for him are sufficient to generalize about the political future of the country.  Can you imagine the level of arrogance that would let someone say that?  A friend was one of the people who met Friedman in his Middle East few days trip but she/he won't let me share with you her/his (most negative) impressions.   It is all a joke with this guy, especially when he quotes--as in today--a "political thinker" in Israel.  You have to read what this Israeli thinker said in the article.  Something that was said before him by like 20000,00000,0000 people.
