It seems that Mohamad Bazzi's career ambitions have been increasing. He now writes like New Republic columnists: "Israel has much to gain from a deal over the Golan." It is all about what is good for Israel. It is all about how can you benefit Israel. In the U.S., if you are a journalist or a scholar or a politician, the more ambitious you are, the more you are compelled to compromise your principles. That is how it works, especially if you deal with the Middle East. In that case, more compromises are expected of you. And notice this in this article: among mainstream journalists, the only demand that is placed on the U.S. administration is for more "involvement." Personally, I have seen U.S. involvement in the Middle East for decades and we should demand no involvement. No involvement whatsoever.
