"As the Finnish began casting votes for their chosen candidates from early Sunday morning, the women and young candidates are seen overwhelmingly dominating the election campaign of the parliamentary polls. Women, who hold some 40 percent in the 200-seat Finnish parliament, are seen distributing leaflets and hoisting bunches of balloons with their names on them at every corner in Helsinki. Young candidates, ranging from as early as 21 to 35, are seen busy attending talk programs and convincing the Finnish people about the importance of sending youth in the parliament. The youth constitute some 10-15 percent in the Finnish parliament. The Finnish Constitution states that an 18-year old Finnish citizen is eligible to caste vote in polls and is also eligible to give his/her candidacy."
