Yesterday, Palestinians demonstrated against hunger. I don't know why, but I thought that this was really important. The vulgar (and cruel) Arab nationalist regimes (from Nasser to the Ba`th) would not want any demonstration that does not chant nationalist slogans. As Nasser put it after '67: "No Voice Shall Raise Above the voice of the battle." I am pleased whenever Arabs don't chant "with spirits, with blood, we shall sacrifice ourselves for you...Mr/Ms Potato head." How much I detest that chant. The parameters of "freedoms" in Lebanon are quite constrained: criticisms of Hariris are not permitted. Even Gen. `Awn has muted his criticisms. I will post a detailed view of the new cabinet, once it is formed. Apparently, many Sri Lankan maids were forced to wear Lebanese flags t-shirts and to demonstrate during the Hummus Revolution. I heard many accounts already. Kuwait is really getting into the Arab media business. Not only has it launched Sada Al-Balad newspaper in Lebanon (which is doing well), but they also own part of ANB TV, and will be buying shares of NBN-TV, I was told. Kuwaiti royal family is also planning a news channel. I can report to you that Al-Hurra TV can't be found on any TV in Lebanon. People just don't program that channel in. Why would they? Al-Hurra is busy airing a documentary on potato chips in the US when major events are happening around the world. I heard that NASA is celebrating yet another major "scientific discovery." I never believe them. NASA is the best propaganda scam that the US military-industrial complex could come up with too fool US taxpayers. And how fooled. Most of their work is defense/intelligence-related, but they want to convince you that sending a rat into space can help find a cure to cancer. And you believe that? You actually believe that.
