Now this is Nir's article from New Yorker on Fallujah. (thanks Nir and Brenda). Interesting, but I believe that Nir over-stressed the "foreign fighters" presence. I do believe that there are foreign fighters but the number is much smaller than reported, and even the Americans report a miniscule percentage of foreign fighters among the more than 46,000 Iraqis arrested so far. Also, Nir reports that "his friends" who have been captured by Fallujah fighters recognized accents from Saudi Arabia, Syria, etc. Now unless the friends were Arabs, how could those people recognize the accents, I wonder. Maybe Nir can answer.
