Full text: Newly released (declassified) US Department of State documents dealing with the 1967 War. NPR, the propaganda radio of the US government, decided that the documents confirm the Israeli story regarding the sinking of the Liberty ship. But James Bamford, in his important definitive study of the National Security Agency (Body of Secrets : Anatomy of the Ultra-Secret National Security Agency), states that the NSA evidence refutes the Israeli version of events. Bamford has also looked at the newly released documents and does not believe that they exonerate Israel, as NPR has chosen to do.
