This is basically an invention by the sectarian Syrian armed movement to justify its blantantly anti-`Alawite sectarian bigotry

"And to the west, perhaps, that stillborn Alawite state is about to rise again."  There is not one shred of evidence that anyone among the `Alawites spoke of this or even sought it.
