When the British Peel Commission was formed in 1936, Zionists leaders objected to its very formation. They claimed that Earl Peel was "strongly pro-Muslim." (Palestine Post, July 30, 1936). Of course, the Peel Commission report when issued later was not to the liking of the Palestinians--and it is not to my liking today.
