This is an unabashed call for war by a director of an ostensible human rights organization. Can you imagine this guy (who has been obsessed with the "pro-Israel donors" to his organization in all of his weak work on human rights) daring ever to call Western government to put an end of killing Palestinians by Israeli fighter jets, can you imagine him daring to criticize in such language the Saudi-UAE criminal war in Yemen? And the arguments that he marshals are all applicable to the equally indiscriminate methods of murder and war crimes by the Syrian rebels that he champions. But he manages to make that silly argument left-over from 2011, that if the Western government does not launch war on Syria, the radical Jihadis will take over. They have taken over the "revolution" from the start, Mr. human rights. But wait: Kenneth Roth adds legitimacy to his call for war in this line: "virtually all the Syrians I have spoken with". All the Syrians? How did you manage to assemble this highly representative and random sample of Syrians? Did you, say, meet them at function at WINEP? And are you implying that there is only one side in the war in Syria, and that side assigned you to call for war by Western governments? The time when some in the Middle East were fooled by the rhetoric and vapid propaganda of Western human rights organizations is refreshingly long gone.
