While they are no Middle East experts, Loveday Morris and Liz Sly of the Washington Post have developed their own methods of the research on the Middle East: in addition to skyping with individuals whose contacts are supplied to them by Fee Syrian Army press folks in Beirut, they each take turn, while Morris monitors the Twitter account of Kim Kardashian for any tweets on Syria, Liz Sly monitors the Twitter account of Russell Crowe hoping for any tweets on Turkey. Such is the state of American coverage of the Middle East region in the age of Arab uprising.
