I have praised this brilliant Syrian dissident cartoonist, `Ali Farzat. During the short-lived Damascus Spring he produced a magazine named, Ad-Dumari (I still have several issues of it). I always credit Lisa Wedeen of the University of Chicago's Political Science Department for introducing me to his work back in 1993. I have followed him closely since. He has an active website. Look at those two cartoons. The one on top show the guy in the front carrying (or being tied to) a sign that says: "a spontaneous march." I love it. The one below show the guy yelling: "Through dialogue means through dialogue."
