The metal door through which the animals escaped has no handle and doesn't appear to be bent, Leo said, although there are some marks on it.  The market, in the former Bachman Sheet Metal building, opened this summer despite strong opposition by Lackawanna residents. The city has a large Yemeni population living in its First Ward, where the market is located.  The Halal method of slaughtering animals involves a Muslim "slaughterman" invoking the name of Allah as a sharp knife is used to swiftly cut the animal's neck, severing the blood vessels, windpipe and gullet.  A man who answered the phone at the market Wednesday afternoon declined to comment about the incident."
