sexism in Lebanon
"These widespread social views extend beyond the workplace and into the home where, according to the research, 61.2 percent of people (including women) considered housework to be solely a female responsibility, regardless of whether the woman was employed full-time or not. In contrast only 25 percent thought the tasks should be shared, and a mere 3.9 percent thought that it should be the sole responsibility of the man. “In our experience, women suffer from a double discrimination,” said Viola.“Not only are they at the margin of public policies, but public policies often [fail in] including women, taking for granted, through their programs, that they represent actors fully integrated in society, so that exclusion is therefore often underestimated.”" (thanks Olivia)
