Maid in Lebanon
After my finished my daily 60 laps in the pool routine. I went to have a worker open my cabin, and it was a Sri Lankan female worker at the club. I looked at her and she looked very familiar. I said: you look so familiar, i have seen you before. She said: I dont know. I said: yes, I remember. You were featured in the documentary by Carol Mansour on the plight of Sri Lankan maids in Lebanon. She was so happy, and said: yes, I was in that film, and Carol Mansour is "very good." We talked in simple Arabic but she managed to tell me that "Lebanese don't treat us well." I told her I show that documentary to my students in the US.
