Media in Venezuela
I asked an expert of Latin America that I respect to comment on the item below about media ownership in Venezuela. He/she said this (I cite with her/his permission): "this is from nearly 3 years ago and things have changed a lot since then. i don't know what the audience share is of the different TV stations right now, but the important thing, i think, is that the government-owned stations have increased their share over time but still do not have a majority of the audience while most of the private TV stations have mellowed out some in their critiques of Chavez except for one or two of them. and i think the general trend is mostly a good thing -- those stations had called for and helped organize a coup d'etat against Chavez back in 2002. "
