Tony Blair and the New York Times
So the New York Times covered the appearance of Tony Blair before a British commission of inquiry about the war on Iraq (is it not indicative that the US has no such commission?). And who did the New York Times send to cover the appearance? None other than John Burns, whose enthusiasm for the Bush's wars was matched only by Dick Cheney. In fact, Bush senior invited John Burns to the Bush Presidential Library in Texas to reward him for his services to his son. I read several accounts of Blair's appearance, but nowhere did I read this: "Mr. Blair quickly caught his rhythm, and rode out a series of impatient thrusts by members of the inquiry panel, effectively dominating the hearing. He offered no apology for joining President Bush in toppling Mr. Hussein, saying repeatedly he thought it was in the best interests of Britain and the world."
