A Prince on crack
You have to watch this interview with Prince Al-Walid bin Talal. I was grumpy and sick yesterday and yet watched the whole thing. It reminded me of a character that Al Pacino played in one of his movies in which he was high and high strung. It must have been Scarface. Notice the soft questions that Rose throws at him, and notice that they basically reach the conclusion that Saudi Arabia is a democracy, albeit a special (horrific, beheading) kind of democracy. And notice that Al-Walid owes all that he knows about world affairs to Thomas Friedman. And notice how he is at pains to reassure Israel. (thanks Sameer)
