Ginger drink
I was asked about how to prepare ginger (zanjabil in Arabic) drink. I asked the folks at Bread Republic in Hamra street, and they said just slice some giner over hot boiling water and let it sit for a few minutes. But the real expert on ginger drink is Tawfiq at Al-Akhbar newspaper. He told me that ginger should be grated and not sliced. And he adds honey. His ginger drink was the best and it was rather potent and spicy. As soon as I came back home I purchased ginger and a grater, and I have never grated in my life. It was good but not as spicy as Tawfiq's in Beirut. I will try to use more ginger and will report to you. Stay on the edge of your seats NOW.
