social responsibilty
"Social responsibility is a core Arab value running through the Arab multinationals emerging on to the global stage in the last decade. The contribution of these corporate giants to the region's prosperity is clear and western businesses could learn lessons from their example of corporate social responsibility." Social responsibility? Treating Asian workers like slave? Having destitute and poor Arabs living side-by-side to your opulent and ostentatious palaces? Treating women as if they are invisible? You, of all people, want to teach the world about social responsibility? You who--through your funding--have turned the development reports about the Arab world into vapid statements that absolve Arab governments of responsibility and which serve as validation of the Bush Doctrine? If you have no oil, you would really know what Arabs think of you. (thanks Olivia)
