The Lebanese Communist Party had a rally yesterday. The secretary-general, Khalid Hdadah, gave a strong speech. I was pleased that attacked both sides in Lebanon, and included (in passing and not systematic) criticisms of `Awni movement and Hizbullah. He rightly accused both of hypocrisy: the `Awnis for speaking of reform and opposition to corruption while working for an alliance with the Hariri movement, and the Hizb for speaking of liberation and resistance while aligning themselves of groups that Hdadah said can be described as "traitors" in that
regard.
