An American journalist (who does not want to be identified) sent me this: "according to a friend of mine in the CIA who i trust and has been working on iraq for the last five years, the american know that the iraqis are not holding al baghdadi, and scoff at the notion. moreover, they believe he doesnt exist and that al qaeda in iraq wisely invented him because the americans were getting too good at killing al qaeda in iraq leaders." Another person (A.) wrote this: "Everyone knows that al-Baghdadi is a joke. The wife of the poor man who was arrested went to a lawyer asking him to represent her husband. Unveiled woman and their family is a poor one that was expelled from diyala a few years back. It is annoying with my...work, because the government created a lie they cannot stop, they have new info everyday on Baghdadi. They even went as far as to use his "confessions" to strike at a Sunni party. And the Iraqi media dare not oppose the government on these matters.
