Finished reading a new book:
Who Speaks for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think By John L. Esposito and Dalia Mogahed. It is a small interpretive book that analyzes for the readers the views and opinions of Muslims worldwide based on the Gallup surveys in Muslim countries. It succeeds in dispelling--based on evidence and not generalizations--various misconceptions about Muslims that are peddled in the American press. The only criticism I have is that I wish there was an appendix to include some of those polls so that the readers can see for themselves. Go read it NOW.
