Anti-Semitism of Israel's advocates. It is quite observable that many among Israel's advocates in the West and East are anti-Semites. It is quite observable that leaders of pro-Israeli organizations often cover up the anti-Semitism of Israel's advocates. `Ali Salim, is a silly Egyptian playwright, who wrote a silly book about his car ride to Israel, is one of the lone advocates of normalization with Israel--but when he appears on AlJazeera he gets cold feet. Today he was on AlJazeera's Ittijah Al-Mu`akis (it pitted an advocate of the Egyptian regime against and advocate of the Libyan regime but the latter dude did not know that his government's policy has changed from the 1970s), and made an anti-Semitic crack. I am sure that pro-Israeli organizations in the US (like WINEP among others) will continue to invite Salim and will continue to honor him. You will be certain that MEMRI will not circulate a clip of the anti-Semitic Salim mocking Jews, as he did today.
