This guy, Khashuqji, is a former devoted fan and follower of Bin Laden is now a House of Saud reformer--there is no contradiction in that transition, I assure you: "But Saudi media has avoided any mention of a pro-democracy petition delivered to King Abdullah and leading princes this month. Some of the signatories have been arrested. Saudi papers are mostly owned by influential princes and subject to close government scrutiny. Khashoggi, who recently served as adviser to Prince Turki al-Faisal, Saudi ambassador in London and Washington, said coverage of the petition would depend on its progress. 'If there is a (government) response, then we might cover it, but since it appears as a private dialogue between a number of citizens and His Majesty, we in the media should not get involved in it,' Khashoggi said." (thanks John)
