Don't you like it when the US acts all sanctimonious about the need for reform in the UN? Don't you like it when the US insists that American officials be appointed to UN agencies to root out corruption? And don't you like it when the US in fact withdrew from UNESCO because it accused it of massive corruption? Well, now this: "The highest-ranking American official at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization has resigned, just days before an official audit made public on Monday reported that he had violated Unesco’s rules by granting seven contracts to an American consulting firm without an open bidding procedure."
