As-Safir's `Ali A-Musawi (an expert on espionage in Lebanon who wrote the only book-length study of Israeli espionage in Lebanon) revealed the discovery of a spy ring inside the Lebanese Public Security apparatus who was collecting information on Hizbullah for the Italian intelligence service. My sources tell me that he is supporter of Hariri organization in north Lebanon. Here, Hariri rag, Al-Mustaqbal, downplays the story and seems to imply that it was no big deal because he was indeed spying for Italian intelligence but that he was merely collecting information (for a foreign intelligence service) on Al-Qa`idah.
