Not only is this man who writes those sophisticated words (Martin Peretz) an editor or whatever of a magazine, but he used to teach English at Harvard University (that in itself should disabuse you of any notion of superiority of that institution): "Now, of course, Kofi Annan has assured the world that Syria will not send more armaments to Hezbollah. Do you believe it? If you do, you're a fool. But Annan doesn't believe it either. He's just faking. It's his routine. Everybody knows it. But it's convenient for some to go along." (thanks F.)
