I never mind any humiliation that is visited on any Arab government. Make no mistake about it. They deserve it and more. I heard James Zogby pathetically defending the UAE the other day. What a defense. As you know, he has had long standing ties with the UAE government which explains why he called the UAE "the most progressive" place in the region--this about a place where unelected male elders of ruling families run the place, and where Asian workers are treated like slaves--or semi-slave as one Asian worker in Qatar once told me. Since Sep. 11 (if not since the US war on Iraq in 1991) all Gulf governments went back to their status as protectorates--as they were called when they fell under British rule (before their bogus independence). To be sure: the motives of the loud mouths in Congress are xenophobic, racist, and demagogic--and it has helped the political fortunes of Hillary Clinton--but those client tyrannies deserve such treatment from their own patron. They all humiliate their people, and they deserve to be humiliated.
