Based on the account of 3 Sep. 11 hijackers, this NYT reviewer generalizes about all Middle East men (and she is a liberal, mind you): "It ominously suggests how widely the idea of jihad has taken hold among middle class citizens in the Middle East". And no. The hijackers were NOT "ordinary." They were fanatical kooks.
