The Sarajevo of the Lebanese civil war (well, there were at least two), was the ambush of a bus of unarmed Palestinians in the `Ayn Ar-Rummanah neighborhood just outside of Beirut by armed thugs of the right-wing militias of the Phalanges Party on April 13th, 1975. (I still remember that day; I was 15 years old). This sparked clashes between the neighborhoods of the predominantly Christian`Ayn Ar-Rummanah and the predominantly Shi`ite Ash-Shiyyah. For the last several nights, fights have been reported in `Ayn Ar-Rummanah between supporters of the opposition and supporters of Amal and Hizbullah. I wonder whether Bush, who is giddy about developments in Lebanon, will take notice.
