"Continuing the United States’ longstanding support for Israel, President Bush recently asked Congress to provide $2.52 billion in vital assistance to the Jewish state in fiscal year 2006. Bush’s budget request would set aside $2.28 billion in military aid for Israel, with another $240 million in economic assistance."
