Kofi Annan, I have said repeatedly, really needs to be behind bars, and should be put on trial for direct and indirect responsibility for war crimes, and for violation of the UN charter. The skulls of the innocent civilians in Rwanda, Afghanistan, Sudan, and Iraq cry out for justice. S. alerted me this morning to his interview on Meet the Press. How right she was. He was mainly concerned with the improvement of the conditions for US occupation and colonization. He was not concerned with civilian casualties in Fallujah, but with the bad image that it sends regarding US colonization efforts. And on the evidence of torture and abuse of prisoners? He said that it sends a bad image. I kid you not. Now you know why the Clinton administration installed him at the helm of UN. An obedient servant of Empire he is.
